Special Session 1: Bridging Theory and Application:
Advanced Image Processing for
Medical Diagnosis, Security, and Edge Intelligence
Short description:
This special session focuses on cutting-edge image
processing technologies and their interdisciplinary
applications, addressing critical challenges across medical
diagnostics, multimedia security, and edge deployment. It
encompasses innovations in medical image analysis (e.g.,
ultrasound-based liver cancer diagnosis) that advance
clinical decision-making, alongside breakthroughs in image
restoration, super-resolution, and compression to optimize
visual data quality and transmission efficiency. The session
also explores solutions for multimedia security, including
detection of AI-generated forgeries and image tampering,
while emphasizing model lightweighting and efficient
deployment on edge devices via techniques like knowledge
distillation and architecture optimization. Additionally, it
highlights multi-modal data fusion for enhanced target
detection accuracy. By bringing together researchers and
practitioners, this session aims to foster discussions on
translating theoretical advances into real-world image
processing systems.
